Single-Hung Windows
Single-hung windows are a very common and traditional window. The primary difference between a single-hung and a double-hung window is that a single-hung window will only have one sliding sash that opens, and typically from the bottom.
Single-hung windows have several advantages that can make them an attractive option for replacement windows.
Single-Hung Windows Offer Several Advantages, Including the Following:
- Cost - Single-hung windows are often less expensive than double-hung windows.
- Energy Efficient - As with most windows, when accompanied by the Energy Star Efficiency Rating and properly installed, single-hung windows can provide a measurable energy savings over older non-Energy Star-rated windows.
- Application - Similar to double-hung windows, single-hung windows can be a good option for most applications. They come in a wide variety of styles, colors, finishes, and sizes, and are available in most brands. Standard sizes are also in stock and offer short installation timeframes.
